Gold promises cash for McLeish

Birmingham co-owner David Gold has promised to back manager Alex McLeish with his own money in the January transfer window if necessary.

McLeish expects to utilise income from the sale of Rowan Vine and Neil Kilkenny and likely departures of Martin Taylor and Neil Danns to strengthen his squad this month.
