Arca set for reserves run-out

Middlesbrough midfielder Julio Arca will step up his comeback for the reserves tonight.

The 26-year-old Argentinian played the last 10 minutes of yesterday’s superb 2-1 win over Barclays Premier League leaders Arsenal on his return to senior action following a knee ligament injury.

Barely 24 hours after leaving the field at the Riverside Stadium, he will start for the second string against Liverpool at Warrington in a young side in which only Seb Hines and Ben Hutchinson otherwise have significant first-team experience.

Arca will hope his run-out in the north-west will out him in contention for a start at bottom-of-the-table Derby on Saturday.
