McSheffrey penalty gives Blues first-half lead at Spurs

Gary McSheffrey’s penalty gave Birmingham an undeserved half-time lead against Tottenham at White Hart Lane.

McSheffrey converted from the spot after Younes Kaboul had clipped the forward to give new boss Alex McLeish an encouraging start to his reign.

Spurs dominated the half, however, with Robbie Keane, Darren Bent and Dimitar Berbatov all squandering chances.
