Finnan and Potter ruled out of Czech Republic clash

Republic of Ireland manager Stephen Staunton's woes continue ahead of Wednesday's crucial Euro 2008 qualifier against the Czech Republic in Prague.

The Irish set-up confirmed today that Liverpool defender Steve Finnan and Wolves midfielder Darren Potter will both miss the game after failing to recover from recent injuries.

The news is a further blow to Staunton's preparations, following the loss of Stephen Ireland due to a family bereavement.

Ireland need to secure three points at the Czechs following Saturday's night's heartbreaking 2-2 draw with Slovakia.
