Sunderland new boy Danny Higginbotham is confident the club’s ambitious summer spending will help to secure a lasting Barclays Premier league future.

The 28-year-old defender joined the Black Cats in a £3million move from Stoke last night as manager Roy Keane made a triple transfer breakthrough.
