Smith signs for Magpies

Newcastle have agreed a fee for Manchester United striker Alan Smith and are also in talks with Brazilian midfielder Cacapa.

The Magpies have agreed a £6million fee for Smith, who is deemed surplus to requirements at Old Trafford, while Lyon captain Cacapa is scheduled to have a medical today.
