Marseille close in on Cisse switch

France striker Djibril Cisse looks set to complete a permanent move to Marseille after the Mediterranean club reached “an agreement in principle” with Liverpool.

Cisse spent last season on loan with Marseille but remained a Liverpool player.

However, the 25-year-old hitman now looks likely to sign a four-year deal with the French club.

A statement on Marseille website, www.om.net, read: “As well as signing Boudewijn Zenden, Marseille have also reached an agreement in principle with Liverpool for the transfer of Djibril Cisse.”
