Staunton urges players to take a chance

Republic of Ireland manager Steve Staunton has challenged his shadow squad to prove their worth to him on tour in the United States.

With Euro 2008 qualifiers against Slovakia and the Czech Republic coming up in September, a touring squad already missing 25 possible players through injury, personal commitment or the need for rest now presents an opportunity for otherwise overlooked players to shine.
