Scully upbeat despite injuries

Shamrock Rovers will move into contention at the top of the table with a win against Drogheda United at Tolka Park tonight (kick-off 8pm).

The Hoops are still missing Skipper Aidan Price and long-term casualty Paul Shiels but Danny O'Connor and Andy Myler are in line to start.

Derek Pender, Tommy Barrett and Eric McGill are all doubtful as they are all carrying injuries.

"I want a really strong performance from the team," said Rovers manager Pat Scully.

"We can play against the top sides, as we proved last Friday in Cork, and if we keep that up we can get three points against Drogheda.

"It’s another big game for us, because Drogheda are a good side with some very good players, but once we maintain the standards we’ve set in recent weeks I’d be very confident."

Jason Gavin, Graham Gartland, Richie Baker, Dan Connor and Shane Barrett are all out injured for Drogheda.
