Reshuffle for Boro
Middlesbrough boss Gareth Southgate was forced into a defensive reshuffle after losing both first-choice centre-halves for the Barclays Premiership clash with Watford.
Jonathan Woodgate is still to shake off the knee injury which prevented his participation in England's Euro 2008 qualifiers last month, while Emanuel Pogatetz started a two-match ban.
Chris Riggott returned to the starting line-up alongside £6million summer signing Robert Huth, who was back after his foot fracture, while there was also an opportunity for winger Adam Johnson.
