No problems for Wales against minnows

Wales 3 San Marino 0

Wales 3 San Marino 0

Wales cruised to a comfortable Group D victory over a totally outclassed San Marino in this Euro 2008 qualifier in Cardiff tonight.

Ryan Giggs and Gareth Bale set the ball rolling for Ireland’s group rivals in the first half, and Jason Koumas netted a second period penalty in front of an 18,752 crowd – far more than had been predicted.

The performance was fine from Wales, but they know they should have scored more goals.

Danny Coyne did not have a save to make as Wales spent the entire game camped in their hapless opponents’ half.
