Liverpool manager Rafael Benitez is expected to bring his big guns back for the Premiership clash against Manchester United at Anfield tomorrow.

Benitez rested seven players from the team that beat Barcelona in the Champions League for last weekend’s victory over Sheffield United.

With the Champions League second leg against Barcelona coming up on Tuesday, Benitez will have to consider who he risks against the Premiership leaders.

Steve Finnan will make his 400th career league appearance if he plays.

Striker Peter Crouch is still recovering from a broken nose in the Blades clash but Jose Reina, Craig Bellamy, Daniel Agger, Mohamed Sissoko, Dirk Kuyt and Xabi Alonso - none of whom was in last weekend’s starting line-up – are expected to return.

Provisional squad: Reina, Finnan, Agger, Carragher, Riise, Gerrard, Alonso, Sissoko, Pennant, Kuyt, Bellamy, Crouch, Gonzalez, Fowler, Hyypia, Dudek, Arbeloa, Zenden, Mascherano.
