Terry selected to face Arsenal
Skipper John Terry was declared fit to lead Chelsea into their all-London Carling Cup final against Arsenal at the Millennium Stadium.
Terry was expected to be sidelined for at least a week after damaging his ankle in Porto on Tuesday but the Blues medical staff patched up the defender as Chelsea looked to win the trophy for the second time in three seasons.
Jose Mourinho picked all his big guns, including Andriy Shevchenko, a move which saw Arjen Robben left on the bench.
As expected, Gunners boss Arsene Wenger stuck with his policy of leaving out all his major men. Thierry Henry, Gilberto, Freddie Ljungberg and William Gallas played no part at all.
In fact the average ago of the Arsenal outfield 10 was only 20, with 19-year-old Brazilian Denilson anchoring midfield.
Chelsea: Cech, Diarra, Terry, Carvalho, Bridge, Makelele, Lampard, Ballack, Essien, Shevchenko, Drogba. Subs: Hilario, Ashley Cole, Mikel, Robben, Kalou.
Arsenal: Almunia, Hoyte, Toure, Senderos, Traore, Walcott, Fabregas, Denilson, Diaby, Aliadiere, Julio Baptista. Subs: Poom, Hleb, Djourou, Adebayor, Eboue.
