England winger Aaron Lennon was on the bench for Tottenham in the second leg of their Carling Cup semi-final against Arsenal.

Needing at least one goal at the Emirates Stadium to set up a clash against Chelsea in Cardiff, Spurs boss Martin Jol opted for Steed Malbranque and Hossam Ghaly on the flanks.

Jol started with Robbie Keane and Jermain Defoe in attack, with Egypt striker Mido on the bench.

With the tie poised at 2-2, Arsene Wenger kept his promise to field youngsters such as Theo Walcott, Armand Traore and Justin Hoyte.

However, the hosts were bolstered by Gilberto in the midfield and Emmanuel Adebayor in attack.
