Middlesbrough dug in for five minutes of stoppage time to stop Portsmouth climbing to fifth in the Premiership after another disappointing Fratton Park show ended goalless.

Linvoy Primus twice went close to breaking the deadlock in the first half but the game petered out in the second after Matt Taylor missed a good chance for Harry Redknapp’s team.
