Consortium breaks off Newcastle takeover talks

St James' Park Group Limited, a consortium backed by Polygon Global Opportunities Master Fund, have broken off talks with Newcastle over a potential takeover.

A statement confirmed the group has "no intention of making an offer for Newcastle United PLC at this time".
