Wenger keeps faith

Arsene Wenger was unsurprisingly happy to stick with the team which destroyed Reading in the Premiership last weekend.

Wenger rested all but Johan Djourou for the Carling Cup tie against West Brom but he recalled them to face Everton.

He named the same 11 who started last week’s 4-0 win at the Madejski Stadium.

Fit-again Philippe Senderos, who started his first game of the season against Albion, took a place on the bench along with Jeremie Aliadiere, who scored twice in the Carling Cup.

Everton were without central defender David Weir after he was knocked out against Luton. Joseph Yobo partnered Alan Stubbs at the back in Weir’s absence.

Arsenal: Lehmann, Hoyte, Toure, Djourou, Gallas, Silva, Hleb, Rosicky, Fabregas, Van Persie, Henry. Subs: Almunia, Senderos, Flamini, Aliadiere, Walcott.

Everton: Howard, Neville, Stubbs, Yobo, Lescott, Davies, Cahill, Carsley, Osman, Arteta, Johnson. Subs: Turner, Hughes, Beattie, McFadden, Anichebe.
