Capello defends Beckham substitute role

Real Madrid boss Fabio Capello has defended his handling of David Beckham after the former England captain last week complained about his role as a substitute.

Beckham spoke of his frustration at being reduced to a bit-part player under Capello, but that did not stop the Real coach from leaving him on the bench again last weekend as Real beat Barcelona 2-0 in ‘el clasico’ on Sunday night.
