Jermain Defoe and Peter Crouch each scored twice as England launched their European Championship qualifying campaign in emphatic style against the minnows of Andorra at Old Trafford.

Steve McClaren’s side dominated against opponents ranked 132nd in the world after Crouch had given them a fifth-minute lead.

Steven Gerrard and Defoe struck before half-time and then the Tottenham striker and Crouch completed England’s nap hand after the break.
