Ronan Finn hit a double as Premier Division UCD had to come from behind to beat managerless Limerick at Belfield to stumble through to the last eight of the FAI Carlsberg Cup.

With chairman Danny Drew in charge and midfielder Tommy Barrett having to play in goal, Limerick started well and deservedly went in front on 32 minutes when Robbie Kelleher shot into the roof of the net following good play by Shane Guerin.

College slowly came into the game and levelled three minutes later when 18-year-old Finn shot past Barrett from Paul Byrne’s flick.

Pushed up front from the restart, Finn then put UCD in front within 30 seconds when drilling past Barrett at his near post from Conor Sammon’s pass.

Substitute Stephen Hurley added UCD’s third on 67 minutes with a terrific free kick.
