Staunton to name team for Germany qualifier today

Ireland manager Stephen Staunton is due to unveil his squad today for the opening Euro 2008 qualifier against Germany in just under two weeks' time.

Staunton's preparations for the match suffered a setback last week when he was forced to use a side severely depleted by injury for the friendly match against Holland.

Robbie Keane, Shay Given, Damien Duff and Richard Dunne were among those who missed the 4-0 drubbing at the hands of the Dutch.

However, they all played for their clubs at the weekend and are expected to be included in the Irish squad announced later today.
