Cristiano Ronaldo was briefly reunited with Wayne Rooney at Manchester United’s Carrington training complex this lunchtime.

Ronaldo’s return following his post-World Cup break coincided with Rooney continuing preparations for his anticipated 45-minute appearance at Macclesfield this evening.
