Lampard suffers injury scare - reports
Frank Lampard gave England a scare when he twisted his ankle in a practice match at the team’s training camp in Baden-Baden, according to reports.
The Chelsea midfielder left the pitch with ice strapped to the injury and underwent intensive treatment, it was claimed.
Lampard, yet to score in Germany despite 21 shots at goal – the highest in the tournament, is set to receive further attention from England team doctor Leif Sward and the physiotherapist Gary Lewin today.
It is thought he will be fit for tomorrow’s World Cup quarter-final against Portugal, although he may need pain-killing injections.
