Angell heads for Pompey exit
Portsmouth have released youth and reserve team coach Brett Angell after less than six months in the job as part of plans to restructure the youth development set-up at Fratton Park.
Angell, 37, the former Everton and Sunderland striker who started his playing career as a schoolboy at Pompey, joined the coaching staff in October 2005. He filled the role vacated by former players Andy Awford and Mark O’Connor.
A statement said: “The club wish Brett all the best in the future but we are now looking ahead to build a coaching staff with a proven track record in youth football.”
