Gold prescribes anger management for Jordan

Birmingham co-owner David Gold today described Simon Jordan as “an angry young man” after the Crystal Palace chairman’s attack on Gold and fellow Blues chief David Sullivan.

Speaking earlier this week, Jordan condemned the Birmingham pair for “the way they do business”.

“I’ve had enough dealings with them to be able to have that view,” said Jordan, whose club lost manager Steve Bruce to Birmingham in December 2001.

Gold was surprised by Jordan’s remarks and urged the Eagles chief to keep such thoughts to himself.

“That’s very sad,” said Gold on Sky Sports News.

With a hint of tongue in cheek, Gold added: “I think Simon really ought to consider some anger management courses.

“He’s an angry young man isn’t he. In time he will mature and realise that this is a serious business and sometimes bygones become bygones, water goes under the bridge, and I hope we don’t see him next year in the lower divisions.”

Gold also revealed that Blues managing director Karren Brady was due back at work on Monday, having underone surgery after being diagnosed with a brain aneurysm.

“I just saw Karren a few moments ago,” said Gold.

“She’s had a tough time, it’s two months now (since the operation), and it’s been very, very difficult for her and it’s not actually over.

“It’s four months before she’ll know if everything’s okay, but she looks fantastic, she looks well, she’s optimistic and she’ll be back in the office on Monday.”
