Sligo had Chris Turner sent off as they hung on for a Premier Division point at Flancare Park.

Town dominated the match, missing two gilt-edged chances in the first half.

Both fell to Alan Kirby, the first on 21 minutes when his volley was well saved by John O’Hara in the Rovers goal. Dessie Baker then set up again Kirby ten minutes but his header was just wide.

Turner then saw red on 71 minutes for a rash challenge on Town midfielder Davy Byrne.
