Chelsea chief executive Peter Kenyon insists his club have been “dragged into” the tug-of-war with Manchester United for Nigerian teenager John Obi Mikel.

The 18-year-old’s career is currently on hold while legal wranglings decide whether the contract he signed with Norwegian club Lyn Oslo last year is valid.
