Kaba Diawara had put Guinea ahead in the first half but Fulham midfielder Diop equalised for the 2002 World Cup quarter-finalists on the hour before strikes from Mamadou Niang and Wigan’s striker Camara made the game safe and Pascal Feindouno then scored a last-gasp consolation.
