Ferdinand targets treble

Rio Ferdinand has insisted Manchester United can rescue their season by winning the three domestic trophies open to them.

The United and England defender is looking to end a season that has gone sour on the European front with success in the Barclays Premiership, FA Cup and Carling Cup.

He said in the Daily Mirror: “We cannot afford to slip up because Chelsea are relentless. But we can still win all three domestic trophies and that is what we must be aiming at.”
