Woman taken to hospital after suspected Cork suburb stabbing

Gardaí attended the scene of an alleged incident of assault at Churchyard Lane in Ballinlough on Tuesday evening.

A woman has been taken to hospital following a suspected stabbing at Ballinlough in Cork City.

Gardaí attended the scene in Churchyard Lane in Ballinlough on Tuesday evening, a garda spokesperson said.

A woman was taken from the scene to hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

A man has been arrested and is currently detained at a garda station in Cork City.

Labour Party Cork city councillor Peter Horgan said: “This is a tight-knit residential area and there’s obviously a lot of concern from residents this evening.

“We need to let Gardaí conduct their investigations with all the information that they need.”
