Galway football goalkeeper Connor Gleeson has joined John Caulfield's Galway United setup "as short-term goalkeeping cover".
Gleeson was on the books at United between 2014 and 2018 before establishing himself in Padraic Joyce's senior football side from 2020 onwards.
With United's on-loan 'keeper Evan Watts recalled by parent club Swansea City, manager Caulfield is on the lookout for a replacement, and it is thought that Gleeson will battle it out with Hugo Pires De Cunha in the interim.
Dunmore MacHales clubman Gleeson's duties with the Galway footballers ended on Sunday with their All-Ireland SFC quarter-final defeat to Dublin at Croke Park.
United's next game is the League of Ireland Premier Division derby meeting with Sligo Rovers on Saturday, July 11.
Meanwhile, United have also announced that Arthur Parker has completed his loan spell and has returned to Swansea upon the opening of the July transfer window; Connor Barratt has extended his loan agreement from Barnsley, and Leigh Kavanagh has linked up with the squad on a loan deal from Bohemians.
