Senegal midfielder Abdoulaye Faye has signed a permanent deal with Bolton until June 2008.

Senegal midfielder Abdoulaye Faye has signed a permanent deal with Bolton until June 2008.

Faye arrived on loan from Lens in the summer and according to manager Sam Allardyce has become “one of the finds of the season”.

Bolton had to make Faye’s contract permanent once he made 10 first-team appearances.

Allardyce was delighted to do so. “With his sheer determination and ability he has forced his way into the team, ” he said.

“He is arguably our most consistent player and loves the physicality of the Premiership.”

Faye was also on loan to Istres last season but when they were relegated he decided to look for a new challenge.

Faye said: “Sam Allardyce and Bolton have given me the opportunity to resurrect my career.

“I had a difficult time in France last season. To have the chance to draw a line under the past and start again in England is something you don’t give up.

“The Premiership is by far the most demanding league in the world and it really suits my style.

“To now earn a permanent contract is a dream come true and for me the challenge is to continue progressing.”
