Owen adds to England's worries

Michael Owen added to Sven-Goran Eriksson’s problems ahead of England’s two remaining World Cup qualifiers as he will miss Newcastle’s Barclays Premiership match at Portsmouth today.

Newcastle’s recent £17m (€25m) signing was reported to have limped out of training yesterday with a dead leg, and his absence was confirmed when Graeme Souness named his line-up for the match at Fratton Park.
