Matthew Etherington has recovered from a bout of food poisoning and is in contention to start for West Ham in Monday’s Barclays Premiership clash with Aston Villa at Upton Park.

Etherington’s return to fitness leaves manager Alan Pardew with a full squad to select from after the Hammers’ international contingent all returned from World Cup and under-21 duty unscathed.
