Liverpool will make a late decision on the fitness of skipper Steven Gerrard for their European Super Cup clash with CSKA Moscow in Monaco tomorrow.

Gerrard travelled with the Champions League winners to Monte Carlo for the Stade Louis II match but Reds boss Rafael Benitez said that he will need constant treatment on a calf injury and that he will delay making a selection choice until the afternoon of the match.

Harry Kewell, out since last season following two operations on groin and hernia problems, was also in the squad and could make the bench.

Benitez confirmed that Djimi Traore, Zak Whitbread and Peter Crouch had all been left behind on Merseyside to recover from injury.

Provisional squad: Reina, Finnan, Carragher, Hyypia, Josemi, Warnock, Riise, Luis Garcia, Alonso, Gerrard, Hamann, Sissoko, Kewell, Cisse, Morientes, Zenden, Carson, Sinama-Pongolle, Potter.
