Idiakez to the rescue as Rams hold Preston

Derby’s Inigo Idiakez earned the Rams their second point of the season with a first-half penalty at Preston.

North End, whose manager Billy Davies was coveted by the Rams following George Burley’s departure in the summer, raced into an early lead through David Nugent.

It was the highly-rated 20-year-old second goal in two matches this term but his effort was the only reward for his team dominating the first-half and Idiakez cancelled it out with a firmly struck penalty two minutes before the interval.
