Manchester City director Dennis Tueart has confirmed the club are looking to sign Andrew Cole and that manager Stuart Pearce will be allowed to spend some of the Shaun Wright-Phillips transfer fee.

Manchester City director Dennis Tueart has confirmed the club are looking to sign Andrew Cole and that manager Stuart Pearce will be allowed to spend some of the Shaun Wright-Phillips transfer fee.

Tueart revealed Fulham striker Cole was already a target before the Blues picked up a £21m (€30.5m) windfall from the sale of Wright-Phillips to Chelsea.
