Giggs ready for title challenge

Ryan Giggs is confident Manchester United can challenge Chelsea for the Barclays Premiership title next season.

United finished third last season, 18 points behind Jose Mourinho’s side and finishing the campaign without silverware.

But Giggs, 31, believes his team-mates can match Chelsea if they improve on their concentration.

He told The Sun: “I have every reason to believe we can win the title back. People go on about the points gap between us and Chelsea but I think that paints a false picture.

“The ability in this United squad is just as good as theirs. We just lacked concentration at key times last season and against teams we would normally beat.”

He added: “It’s not down to ability. It is down to concentration at the right times. It is down to passing at the right time, in the right places and choosing when to shoot. The manager will make sure those things are addressed.”
