Brazil and Sweden dream jobs for Sven
Sven-Goran Eriksson would like to coach Brazil or Sweden after his England contract ends in 2008.
Eriksson wants another crack at club management too, but not before taking England to a major final.
“After my contract ends I will be 60 but I would like to be a manager for a club once more,” Eriksson told The Sun.
“But there are lots of jobs I can take – maybe manager of Sweden or Brazil. Those are two jobs that I would like very much.”
Eriksson is confident England can better their last-eight appearances at the 2002 World Cup and this year’s European Championships.
“This team can do better than the quarter-finals. We can reach a final - maybe in one-and-a-half years from now,” said Eriksson.
“We have to believe we can win it but must have more time training together before internationals.
“We must be together for at least a month before a big tournament and the reason I am still in this job is I believe Engand can do it.”
Eriksson is on a money-spinning Football Association contract worth around £3million a year and admits that only in the world of football is he worth that much.
“If you ask if I am worth the salary, the answer is ‘no’. But in the world of football I am worth it – and I am not complaining,” he said.
