Title all but won as Shelbourne demolish Drogheda

Drogheda United 2 Shelbourne 5

Shels blew Drogheda away to open up an 11-point lead at the top of the table.

Andy Myler appeared to get Drogheda back into the match when equalising Alan Moore’s third minute opener with a free-kick four minutes into the second half.

But Stuart Byrne lobbed Gary Rogers to restore Shels lead on the hour.

Quick fire goals from Wes Hoolahan and Jason Byrne then killed off the game.

Glen Fitzpatrick added a fifth for Shels before Mark Rooney volleyed the goal of the night in stoppage time.
