Blues trip to Dublin 'will go ahead'
Waterford United's eircom league match against Dublin City next week will not be postponed, the club insisted today.
The match will go ahead on Thursday, October 7 despite reports that the involvement of United’s leading scorer Daryl Murphy in the Republic of Ireland Under-21 squad the following weekend would cause a postponement.
Don Givens’ side meet France in Troyes in a UEFA European U21 Championship qualifier on Friday, October 8, but the club said the trip to the capital was still on and the Blues would meet the Vikings at Tolka Park 24 hours earlier.
The club’s FAI Cup semi-final date in Derry on Friday night, however, did cause the eircom League clash with Bohemians to fall by the wayside, and that match, according to the club, could now take place at the RSC on Monday, October 11.
