Champions Boro begin Carling Cup defence at home
Middlesbrough will begin their defence of the Carling Cup against Coventry.
Steve McClaren’s side, who beat Bolton to win the trophy last February, were handed a home tie for their entry into the competition in the third round.
Bolton landed one of five all-Premiership ties as they were drawn at home to Tottenham, 6-0 winners over Oldham tonight.
Manchester City v Arsenal, Newcastle v Norwich, Charlton v Crystal Palace and Birmingham v Fulham were the other all top-flight fixtures.
Chelsea face a home clash with London rivals West Ham whilst Liverpool, Manchester United and Aston Villa were given trips to Millwall, Crewe and Burnley respectively.
Southampton were given a home tie against Colchester and Everton, after scraping past Bristol City, will face Leicester or Preston.
Bournemouth, surprise winners over Blackburn, will take on Cardiff at Dean Court.
