Fortune favours return to international fold
Manchester United’s Quinton Fortune will end his international exile later this month by playing for South Africa in the friendly with Tunisia.
Fortune has been in dispute with the South African soccer authorities since the 2002 World Cup but met with new international coach Stuart Baxter in Manchester last week and indicated his availability for selection.
The United midfielder will be joined in the squad by Benni McCarthy, who has ended his own international exile, as well as Charlton’s Shaun Bartlett and Tottenham’s Mbulelo Mabizela.
