Friars leaves Derry City

Derry City midfielder Sean Friars has left the club by mutual agreement.

The 25-year-old, a former Northern Ireland under-21 international, had recently returned to the Brandywell following a loan spell with first division Finn Harps.

Club sources suggest a number of Irish League clubs would be interested in signing the left-sided midfielder, who won an FAI Cup winners’ medal with the Candystripes in 2001.
