Camara set for Hoops bow
Celtic manager Martin O’Neill has confirmed loan striker Henri Camara will make his Parkhead bow in the friendly against Newcastle on Wednesday.
Camara signed the one-year loan on Friday after refusing to play for Wolves after their relegation from the Premiership.
Celtic have shelled out £1.5m (€2.3m) for the loan of the Senegal international this season, with a view to a permanent transfer.
Now O’Neill will give Celtic supporters their first glimpse of Camara when Bobby Robson’s team arrive in Glasgow.
O’Neill told the club’s official website, www.celticfc.net: “I would say that there is a very good chance that Henri will feature at some stage.
“His fitness is a fair bit behind the rest of the lads at the moment, but he was in training this morning with John Robertson and we’ll be looking at him again tomorrow with a view to playing him on Wednesday.
“The season is looming ever closer now and I would imagine that Newcastle and ourselves will be looking to field strong sides.”
