Newcastle today confirmed they have agreed terms with Manchester United for the transfer of midfielder Nicky Butt.

The 29-year-old England international has returned from United’s American tour after the two clubs thrashed out a deal and is due on Tyneside in the next 24 hours to undergo a medical and discuss personal terms.
