Kluivert arrives in Newcastle

Patrick Kluivert arrived on Tyneside this morning as Newcastle closed in on their second summer signing.

The 28-year-old Dutchman touched down at Newcastle International Airport shortly before 10am after his representatives all but concluded his 12-month loan move to St James’ Park yesterday.

“It’s a great club with great players and I hope I can fit in,” Kluivert told Sky Sports.

“I hope in the year that’s coming they are going to be in the Champions League. It’s an honour to play for such a passionate audience.”
