Rooney sale 'incredibly sad', says Everton director

Everton director Paul Gregg admits it is “incredibly sad” that the club are forced to contemplate the sale of Wayne Rooney.

The Toffees have offered the 18-year-old a five-year, £50,000-a-week (€75,000) contract in a bid to keep him at Goodison Park in the face of huge interest following his starring role for England at Euro 2004.
