Rehhagel to stay as Greek coach

Otto Rehhagel is set to stay as coach of the Greek national team until after the 2006 World Cup, the Greek Football Federation said today.

Vassilis Gagatsis, President of the Federation, told a press conference: “Mr Rehhagel will stay with the Greek football federation for the next two years.”

The announcement comes in the wake of Greece’s surprise victory at Euro 2004, when they beat hosts Portugal 1-0 in the final.
