Russia captain Alexei Smertin will be part of Chelsea’s squad this season, chief executive Peter Kenyon has confirmed.

Russia captain Alexei Smertin will be part of Chelsea’s squad this season, chief executive Peter Kenyon has confirmed.

The midfielder was signed last August for £3.8m (€5.7m) from Bordeaux and promptly sent out on loan to Portsmouth.
